David Holme Design design and manage the construction of landscapes and gardens to a high standard. David's designs combine modern shapes and spaces with a contemporary and naturalistic palette of planting.
David's guiding objective is to bring together all the surrounding elements and the essentials for the client into a simple, practical space that meets the client brief.
David's work ranges from small and medium sized urban and suburban gardens to large gardens in and around London and the Home Counties. Most projects are located in Wimbledon, Putney, Richmond, South West London and parts of Surrey like Sunningdale, Wentworth and Virginia Water.
Although David often deals with large scale, complex landscape and garden projects, this is a small practice with the ability to scale according to the project. David provides the lead and works directly with clients. Other members of the wider team of well over 50 professionals include landscape partners, sub contractors, horticulturists, electricians, gate automation, and all sorts other specialists.
The design of hard landscapes, planting design, hedges, trees, lawns, water features, lighting, garden rooms, walls, gates and gate automation are all part of the service. Locating swimming pools and other key features is all part of the overall design. Designs take a complete end-to-end approach dealing with every aspect of the garden to completion
Hand drawn sketches and 3D CAD models are used to develop a master plan. Once the master plan is agreed the design detail is drawn in CAD. This allows for very fine accuracy. This matters especially for stonework, walls, steps and even planting.
David deals with all the important fine details like planning applications in conservation areas and listed buildings.
David works closely with architects, interior designers, landscapers and property developers to bring together a coherent overall design.
The finished garden is a result of working with some of the best artisans in the industry appropriate to the project, for landscaping, stonework, garden room construction, water features, lighting and specialist features like automated gates.
